Leukocoria

The term leukocoria means “white” pupil. This can occur secondary to any condition which affects the normal red reflex seen in the pupil from white light entering the eye and reflecting back off the retina. First presentation of leukocoria, especially in children, may be unilateral absence of “red eye” in a photograph (although this can occur incidentally).
